When getting a college degree means studying what you like wherever and whenever you want, it's a lot like a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book. So this "four-chapter" video campaign is a fitting way to get those pages flipping.
As The Byrds once famously sang, "To everything turn, turn, turn." And just like the moment the Thanksgiving dishes are done, the Christmas season has already begun, the moment school is out for summer, somewhere the "back-to-school" blitz is right around the corner. Luckily when it comes to WGU, that means scholarships and signing up online instead of frantically scouring the aisles in retails stores for the perfect, retro Trapper Keeper.
Having previously worked with WGU, for this new project we got the gang back together, and were more than ready to up the game: more dolly track, more creative rigging, more complex camera moves, more crew choreography, custom-made props, set design trickery, and themed shooting days that included a tribute to the one and only Dolly Parton.
Producing four videos over the course of three days, we were nearly as omnipresent in Boulder Colorado as bicycles and people in athleisure. The logistics to do so were exactly like one of those brain teaser puzzles whose apparent impossibility ironically only works to fuel your determination to drive yourself crazy figuring it out. In our case, we put a handful of heads together around a big table in front of a whiteboard, and managed to solve it without losing our minds, or even sleep.
We find that you learn something new on every single shoot, and with every single project. And, appropriately enough, this one certainly proved that learning is a lot of fun.
