1% percent in any given moment can make all the difference: a two-second melody, or a single scene in a movie. Whether zooming in or zooming out, a shift in the perspective of how we live, what shapes us, and where it all happens, can open our eyes to realizing just how "big" 1% actually is, and how important it is to our daily lives. 1% added to another, and another -- across the Front Range, across the state, across the country? Guess when you really think about it, 1% percent makes more sense than ever.
We were honored to partner with 1% For The Planet for the production of this video. Our team oversaw concepting and development, scripting, storyboarding, casting, location scouting, and all phases of production of this video campaign.
Production of this video was a whirlwind to say the least. From wildfires and air quality in Boulder County to COVID-19 safe sets mandates, this shoot was postponed on three separate occasions. City of Boulder OSMP was exceptional to work with and kindly navigated our permitting to adhere to schedule changes as they arose. Production eventually took place over the course of (2) Shoot Days in Boulder, CO.
Once Production was wrapped, our team hopped into the edit bays to oversee all aspects of post production on this campaign. We utilized animation, led by the talented Andrew Dicharry, to reiterate key sections of voice over scripting which was spoken by the lovely Kenita Hill. We conducted over 100+ auditions to find the right voice for this video and Kenita's checked all of the boxes for us: warm and approachable, with a strong and slightly maternal delivery style (to lean into a subtle Mother Nature undertone).
Ultimately, we feel nature and the beauty it brings is a vital backdrop for what we do, not just as filmmakers, but in every aspect of our lives. We recognize that our industry can require a significant amount of resources, so it’s especially important that we do everything we can to reduce our global footprint to protect and preserve the natural world for generations to come. That's ultimately why we joined 1% For The Planet as Business Members a few years ago and why we're especially honored to be part of this project and any growing movement to further improve and reduce our impact on climate change, pollution, wildlife, and the food, land, & water industries.
