ADVANCED P.A. MASTERCLASS
About The Class
This hands-on workshop is perfect if you're a current or aspiring PA (Production Assistant) wanting more skills and experience! Since many PAs have never worked with certain kinds of lights or other on-set tools, this day-long class – taught by industry professionals that have honed their skills over years – is tailor-made to get you knowledgeable and familiar with essential tools of the trade. So when someone asks you for something, or wants you to quickly set something up, you'll know exactly what they're talking about. This class will include working with a variety of tools in a typical grip truck (lights, modifiers, etc.), various stands and fixtures, and though this is not a lighting class, you’ll certainly learn a lot about what they do and how they compare.
In this workshop, we'll be setting up and showing you how to work with these pieces of gear and more:
Limited availability, 1-Day only, $99 class fee. Breakfast included.
Work alongside award-winning DP, RC Walker, and seasoned L.A. Gaffer & Producer, Austin Michaels, who do this stuff day in and day out, and are always hiring local crew just like you.
Add a recent certification from BCFC to your resumé to help you get noticed by the right people and get on the best films sets as the busy film season in Colorado quickly approaches.
Meet and connect with leaders in the Colorado film/video industry, running successful businesses that hire and recommend crew on a consistent basis throughout the year.
Each participant that attends will receive a certificate from the Boulder County Film Commission upon completion of the class.
To ensure each participant gets to have plenty of hands-on time, this class is limited to only 20 people.
The class will be held at LSP Film Rentals in a professional production studio in Boulder – which is easily accessible, with plenty of free parking and Bona Coffee, McDevitt Tacos and Sanitas Brewing all right next door.
Previous PA experience is not required, though a passion for film/video production is preferred. Participants should have the ability to hold and carry video production equipment up to 25 pounds. Participants will also be on their feet much of the day, so comfortable shoes are recommended.
The class is $99 for a limited time.
